An ambitious musical interpretation of all 1,330 verses of the Thirukkural, with each Kural presented through an original composition. The project brings together more than a thousand voices across generations, supported by simple Tamil meanings and English subtitles.
Created when Lydian was just 16, Chromatic Grammatic is an original jazz album featuring 12 compositions written across all 12 musical keys. The album brings together internationally acclaimed jazz artists, including Dave Weckl, Eric Marienthal, Frank Gambale and more.

At just 13, Lydian Nadhaswaram won the CBS global talent competition The World’s Best, representing India on an international stage. His performances on piano and drums earned worldwide recognition and marked a defining moment in his musical journey.

A glimpse from the second audio-visual premiere of Lydian Nadhaswaram’s first original symphony, presented on August 9, 2026, at The Music Academy, Chennai. The event brought the complete four-movement work back to audiences through a cinematic presentation featuring the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Matt Dunkley, with the symphony mixed and mastered at Abbey Road Studios.
During The World’s Best, Lydian presented a powerful drum performance inspired by Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, transforming the classical composition through rhythm, speed and improvisation. The performance showcased his versatility beyond the piano and became one of the most memorable moments of his journey on the show.
SYMPHONY COMPOSER FROM CHENNAI

One of Lydian’s landmark cultural initiatives is The Thirukkural 1330 – Kuralisaikkaaviyam, an unprecedented musical anthology that transforms all 1,330 couplets of the 2,000-year-old Tamil masterpiece into fully produced original musical works. Created by Lydian Nadhaswaram in collaboration with his sister Amirthavarshini, who composed the melodies for all 1,330 Kurals, the project brings together more than 1,000 singers across generations, regions, and nations. Lydian arranged, recorded, performed, produced, mixed, and mastered the entire anthology, with the larger aim of preserving Tamil moral literature through music and making it accessible to future generations through audio, video, translation, and education.

Created by Lydian Nadhaswaram at the age of sixteen, Chromatic Grammatic is an original contemporary jazz album built around a distinctive musical concept: 12 compositions written across all 12 musical keys. Spanning approximately one hour, the album brings together jazz, fusion, funk, Indian musical elements, complex rhythmic ideas and expressive improvisation.
Composed and programmed by Lydian, the project reflects his musical identity as a pianist, drummer, arranger, producer and multi-instrumentalist. The album features an exceptional international line-up, including Dave Weckl, Eric Marienthal, Frank Gambale, Mohini Dey, Gino Banks, Drums Shivamani, Rajhesh Vaidhya, Mark Hartsuch, B. C. Manjunath, George Karayiannis, S. Akash, Steven Samuel, Amirthavarshini, Pacific Horns and Alexander Toth.
